Lorde- Royals

At sixteen most people aren't filling in for Frank Ocean on 1 day of notice for the Splendour in the Grass Festival, but that's the kind of stuff Ella Yellich-O'Connor, better known as Lorde, does. At the age of sixteen she is killing it. This track Royals is going to be in the talk for song of the year, and if it isn't it is a crime. Her voice isn't quite like anything I've heard in a while especially coming from someone as young as her. It is refreshing, cool, and a bit unnerving. She is a gem from New Zealand that you best not overlook or you will feel left out when she is one of the next best artists. Take a listen and be on the watch for her debut album coming later this month. Enjoy!

Marvin Divine- Dreamers

With a sample like Every Evening from the 2 Am Club and the smooth delivery of Marvin Divine how could you not like this song? Yes I know this came out in the winter, but it is not getting anywhere close to enough attention. So here it is for you, give it a listen and see what you think. Great song to get in the mood for summer, just roll down the windows and let this play. Enjoy!

The Shouting Matches - Seven Sisters

Do yourself a favor and go listen to The Shouting Matches' new album called Grown Ass Man or their EP Mouthoil. If you don't believe this is a good idea, listen to this track called Seven Sisters and you will change you mind. The side project of Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, and two of his good friends makes for a bluesy melodic mixture that you just sometimes need. Give it a listen, and see what you think, it can't hurt. Enjoy!

Deptford Gotch - Feel Real

Deptford Gotch released an interesting track with an even more captivating video in Feel Real. The beat covered by soft vocals draws you into the artistic video and traps you for four minutes. Deptford Gotch produces a special sound which combines different chimes and beats in order to make a melodic tone throughout. Enjoy.

Wake Owl-Gold

If there was a sound for pure gold, this is what it would sound like. A few days ago I came across these guys and their EP Wild Country which was released this past January. The second I heard this song I was hooked, and couldn't get enough of them. The sound and feel they bring into each of their songs is absolutely amazing and contagious. They are well worth the listen and if you like them head over to iTunes and buy Wild Country, you wont be disappointed. Enjoy!

Mount Kimbie - "Made To Stray"

The British electronic duo is set for their sophomore release "Cold Spring Fault Less Youth" on May 27, 2013. This single released from their new album has all of the Mount Kimbie vibe from their previous release "Crooks & Lovers". Mellow synths, clicky drums, and a groove that has stuck in my head since I first heard it. If there is anything wrong with it, I'd say it ends way too early. Well done.

Passenger-Let Her Go

This isn't a new song, but it was just shown to me by a friend, and damn. The voice of Mike Rosenberg completely caught me off guard when the video started to play and he began to sing. He has a voice like few other singers out there today. This song though a bit depressing is one that you can't help but to sing with and enjoy every sorrow filled word. The video is a simple one, and when combined with this beautiful song it makes for a great experience. Enjoy!

Raz Simone ft. Sam Lachow- Sometimes I Don't

Raz Simone put out his new EP Solomon Samuel Simone on March 19, releasing new tracks which follow suit with his style. Raz and Sam lay down real verses on a soft beat which brings you to a head nod and a good listen. Find Raz's new EP which includes Sometimes I Don't along with four other songs here.

Juicy J ft. The Weeknd - One of Those Nights

Juicy J pairs up with The Weeknd to create a new sound in One of Those Nights. A slow beat accompanied with light high hats throughout, The Weeknd starts the song with his typical soft vocals followed by Juicy in his normal party, sex, and drug referencing fashion. The two apart on this song would be nothing special, but paired together they make for a very interesting combination.

Lorde- The Love Club

Lorde is a 16 year old coming out of New Zealand who uses playful vocals and beats. A different feel than most music coming out, Lorde shows promise and ingenuity. It shocked me to find out she was only 16, with a voice very mature beyond her years. Lorde is definitely up and coming on the indie scene.

Fabolous- So N.Y

This track comes as the result of a Lil Wayne interview with MTV in which he says he "flat out does not like New York". So feeling a little disrespected, Fabolous puts on for his city and spits out this track. Real lyrics coupled with a solid beat makes for a song that is So N.Y. Enjoy.

Tightrope- Walk the Moon

Walk the Moon hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, is what I love about music. They want to have fun doing what they love, and that shows in this music video. Coming from the self titled album Walk the Moon, Tightrope, is an up beat song that you just cant help but bob your head along too. I've been listening to them for a couple months now and am loving that these dudes are starting to get some buzz.

Cisco Adler- You're a Fool ft. G. Love

Ever since the show about Shwayze, Cisco Adler somewhat dropped off of the charts. Granted, this song came out in the summer, and it doesn't fit the 30 and 40 degree weather of winter, but all that aside, its a good listen. Cisco has a "groovy" beat along with the accompanying video of the banana-suit man. Only a couple of months until this song fits the weather...

Mt. Wolf- Life Size Ghost (Catching Flies Remix)

Mt. Wolf puts out a laid back track with Life Size Ghost remixed by Catching Flies. The song has relaxed vocals and oriental string instrument feelings throughout. Listening to it slowly puts you away in a trance, making it a perfect song to end any day.

Sam Lachow- Banana Goo Pie // Raz Simone- Cold

Two guys who have been on repeat on my Iphone the last couple of months have put out some new music. Sam Lachow and Raz Simone are two guys who have been tight for a while with roots in Seattle. Sam Lachow put out "Banana Goo Pie," which is obviously another marijuana song based off of the first line. Sam uses a easy background beat which you will catch your head nodding to as you listen. Raz uses a light beat in a similar fashion, yet the song has a lot deeper meaning. Receiving posts from places such as Good Music All Day, Raz and Sam have hit a point in their career that they decided Seattle wasn't the only place they should enlighten with their music. Both Raz and Sam are accompanying each other on a nearly nationwide tour with only one downfall, they are not coming to any Mid-Atlantic venues, but for dates check here.
